The 1990s: Foundation, establishment and first achievements
Infinitum is founded as a specialist in LAN / WAN technologies and network support services, much needed at the time by rapidly developed businesses of all sizes.
In its first year of operation, Infinitum steps into construction sector, supporting companies with computers that meet specific customer needs.
Over the course of the decade, the company moves into specialized software engineering, forming a dedicated application development department, staffed with expert contributors. It also makes its debut appearance at an industry exhibition (Computer ’94), demonstrating its moving image editing systems and library management software.
While maintaining its activity in computer developing / assembling, Infinitum enters, from 1998, into storage technologies, undertaking a large-scale support project for the Foundation of the Hellenic World (F.H.W. / I.M.E.)
The 2000s: New century, higher challenges, stronger growth
At the turn of 21st century, Infinitum is the only company to assemble systems based on Intel Itanium server, then the world’s leading server device.
Moreover, following the announcement of strategic collaboration with EMC to support VMware software and services, the company steps into Virtualization architectures and environments.
in 2004, Infinitum is officially authorized as Intel server manufacturer, landmarking its close collaboration with a world leader in computing innovation.
At the same time, the company becomes specialized in Microsoft business-oriented tools such as Exchange Server.
From 2007, following the announcement of strategic collaboration with EMC to support VMware software and services, the Infinitum steps into Virtualization architectures and environments.
The 2010s: A driving force in the industry, recognized by its leaders
In 2010, Infinitum starts supporting enterprise-level backup solutions based on the Networker (EMC) solution. In the same year, its headquarters are transferred to the new four-storey, company-owned building in New Heraklion.
Also at the decade’s beginning, the company enters the market of Business Continuity technologies, acquiring know-how and implementing collaborations to ensure the appropriate conditions and requirements for preventing data loss, recovering from damage, and enabling the organization to run seamlessly.
